Development

The Crossfire arised from the idea of making a F3B-competition model which would be accepted and therefore applicable by all members of our F3B-team.

In F3B team performance is a critical factor.
Therefore we wanted to improve our own performances by sharing a common model.

Naturally the use of a common model also simplifies the infrastructure and logistics within the team.
Besides using the same ropes and winch diameter, the direct experience exchange while testing setups and ballast-experimentation improves.
This results in benefits in competition-flights!

A careful optimized concept adjusted to actual requirements of F3B was designed.

The F3B-model: Crossfire!

  • Central attribute of the Crossfire is the wing airfoil M1783 by:
    Max Steidle.
  • Design and aerodynamic concept by:
    Stefan Eder.
  • Realisation of the concept for a CNC-moulding cutter by:
    CAD-CAM OFFICE.

The airfoils by Max Steidle proved themselves at F3J, F3K and F5B-models for the last years.
Among other things this profile is in use by top-pilots of F3J and F5B at World- and Euopean championships.

A global spread of these M-profiles took place by the ESCAPE of Jaro M?ller (EUROMODELL) at which also Stefan Eder made the design and Max Steidle made the airfoil!

In fact, the Crossfire should have already been deployed at the end of 2003.
But the search for a suitable producer was pretty tough.

After the model-revision a on the F3B-area experienced producer which exclusively fabricates this model in the desired quality could finally be found.
